Dom Ford (University of Bremen) visited the Prague Game Production Studies research group from September 21 to October 5, 2023 and gave a guest lecture on War Heroism and Call of Duty to the students at the Institute of Communication Studies and Journalism at the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. In his lecture, Ford analyzed how the first-person shooter games from the Call of Duty franchise represent soldiers as heroes and why the U.S. military considers these games to be effective recruitment and promotional tools.
