Game Production Studies Meetup Sep 14: Current Issues and Methods

Centre of Excellence in Game Culture Studies (https://coe-gamecult.org/) and Prague Game Production Studies group will host a two-hour online event on September 14, 2021 at 12:00 UTC to discuss the current agenda and research methods of the emerging area of game production studies. Building on the recently published edited volume Game Production Studies (available in open access: https://library.oapen.org/handle/20.500.12657/47043) co-edited by the event’s organizers Olli Sotamaa and Jan Švelch, this meetup will provide an opportunity for scholars as well as students interested in game production to talk about current issues, personal experience from empirical research, and ongoing research projects. We would like to encourage conversation between researchers. For that reason, there will not be any long paper presentations, but rather panel discussions that will start with opening remarks from invited panelists, followed by Q&A.

Registration is open here.

The event will be structured into following sections:

12:00–12:25 Opening session: Introduction by organizers (Olli Sotamaa, Jan Švelch, Jaroslav Švelch), followed by brief introductions and status updates from all panelists.

12:25–13:05 Panel discussion Current Issues in Game Production Studies
